Staying Financially Grounded

Staying Financially Grounded Through All Times With Amida Wealth

Last week we talked about embracing uncertainty and the power behind it. As we continue through the season of Love, we bring in the topic of staying financially grounded– through a heart centered approach. “Heart-centered” means that we approach life from a place of inner strength, resiliency, courage, integrity, authenticity and truth. Through this lens, we are able to face uncertainty in our lives with confidence and ease. This week, utilize these 3 tools to stay financially grounded through all moments in life.

Let Us Recognize The 4 Traits Of Financially Grounded People

So what is a grounded person? When someone is grounded, they are sensible and reasonable. They understand the importance of simple things in life such as; meaningful relationships, integrity in the work space, and a tidy home. A grounded person encompasses wealth energy – they find balance and gratitude for the present moment. Their essence is peaceful. In other words, they are present with who they are.

Financially grounded people are:

  1. Reliable & honest.
  2. Possess an unwavering moral compass.
  3. Humble & have healthy self-esteem.
  4. Stand up for what’s right.

At Amida our fivefold elements of wealth are health, career, finances, relationships, and personal growth. We recognize that true wealth is experienced when all of our elements are in balance. The first step is awareness!

Grounding With Your Inner Child

Children are free to be silly and play barefoot. They are present with their physical nature, and often speak their truth. Little children are grounded in their hearts – they are innocent and pure. Have you ever seen a child get upset when a game wasn’t played fair? Their response was most likely as authentic as it gets!

We all posses this innocent, authentic quality inside of our hearts known as the inner child. Your “inner child” is a part of your subconscious that has been picking up messages way before it was able to fully process what was going on (mentally and emotionally). It holds emotions, memories and beliefs from the past as well as hopes and dreams for the future. Remember that It’s OK to feel uncertain about the idea of an inner child, just keep an open mind! Use this grounding exercise below, to reacquaint yourself with your inner child.

Grounding The Inner Child Exercise

Take out a notebook and pen. Sit back in a comfortable seated position, breathe, and ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What are my 5 core childhood memories, and how did they make me feel?
  2. List out 7 activities you loved doing as a child, and who inspired you most.
  3. Think of a challenging moment in your childhood and write it out.
  4. If you could teach your younger self anything, what would it be?
  5. What is your first memory of money?

As you process your experiences, connect to that child-like spirit within yourself. Ground your wealth energy and reconnect back to you. Repeat to yourself; “I am safe, I am whole, I am home.”

Become Present to Your Money Story

Continuing on with our inner child work – what is your first memory of money? Was it the handful of change from your lemonade stand? Asking your parents for a few dollars? Or was it more direct – sensing stress in the household when bills were due? This is referred to as a Money Story. Money Stories are core beliefs about money that drive financial behaviors. Your Money Story is fundamentally shaped by your childhood experience. It is your introduction to, depiction of, and relationship with money from a young age. Often without realizing, these emotions transfer into adulthood and your financial wellbeing, relationships, career, and growth as a person.

This can be beneficial if your parents were able to explain the nuances of financial health. But often there are underlying stressors your inner child senses and reacts towards. The more we are able to become present with our money story, the more grounded we become. In other words, individuals become more aware of limiting beliefs, goals, and aspirations. Remember, Amida Wealth is always here to support you, your wealth journey, and to eliminate your self doubts.
